Introducing SessionbloX

Sessiondesk proudly presents our new modular acoustic treatment system that reimagines studio acoustics as reconfigurable building blocks. With its unique tool-free SBX x-connector system, SessionbloX allows producers and engineers to effortlessly set up and modify their acoustic treatment, from fully treated control rooms to vocal booths and wheeled gobos, all built from the same core components.

At the center of the SessionbloX family stand the SBX core and SBX sub, our flagship high-efficiency acoustic panels. Engineered for precision, the SBX core handles broadband frequencies while the SBX sub targets deep subsonic energy. Beyond their acoustic power, they represent a commitment to health and sustainability: free of mineral wool and synthetic foams, both panels are built with a 100% natural wood fiber interior, ensuring a listening environment that is as safe as it is great-sounding.

SBX core & SBX sub main features:

SBX core and SBX sub use an high-performance PET facing made from at least 60% recycled plastic bottles.

Our PET facing has durable surface finish that repels dust and allows for effortless cleaning, ensuring a long-lasting, fresh appearance.

The PET facing is moisture and bacteria resistant, and completely free of VOCs, formaldehyde, phenols, and phthalates.

Free of mineral wool and synthetic foams, both the SBX core and SBX sub are built with a 100% natural wood fiber interior.

Our wood fiber insulation is a recyclable & eco-friendly choice, Natureplus® certified and made from sustainable Black Forest wood.

Both the SBX Core and SBX Sub include extra colored lassos in the box: Fibrous Green and Agate Grey . Additional colors are available via the Custom Shop.

Acoustic performance for SBX core and SBX sub

Measured absorption coefficients (α) for the SBX core and SBX sub. This data represents the efficiency of sound energy conversion at each frequency band.

SBX sub: Tuning by air gap

The SBX sub features a suspended membrane for targeted bass control. Placing it close to the wall tunes it to ~75Hz, while increasing the air gap shifts absorption deeper. Hover over the bar below to see the target frequency.

Physics of Absorption (>1.0)

Values above 1.0 indicate hyper-efficiency typical of thick, freestanding absorbers. Because these panels capture sound from the front, back, and sides (edge diffraction), they absorb more energy than a flat surface of the same size. For you, this implies maximum acoustic impact with fewer units compared to standard wall-mounted foam.

Test Methodology

Measurements were conducted in Berlin using high-precision NTI audio test equipment. The testing environment was a 9000ft³ fully diffuse reverberation chamber, featuring natural reverb times measuring up to 20 seconds at specific low frequencies, ensuring maximum accuracy in the sub-bass range.
Music equipment including guitars, amplifiers, and a drum set in a warehouse setting.

Not sure how many panels you need?

Every room has a unique acoustic fingerprint defined by its geometry. Our calculator goes beyond simple coverage estimates by performing a full modal analysis of your space to identify exactly where standing waves and bass frequencies build up.

Simply enter your dimensions, and the tool will calculate the precise number of SBX core and SBX sub units required to flatten your frequency response.

Crucially, it removes the guesswork from installation by generating a customized placement guide, showing you where to mount your panels to target those specific modes and achieve studio-grade clarity.
